Death to the Pixies: A few questions, just for you...
by AuldSoul inas an able apologist for jw dogma, i am wondering whether you give me answers with scriptural backing for a few questions.
in other words, whatever your answer is i would like scriptures to support the answer.
i hope that is not too much to ask.. (1) was charles taze russell ever the "faithful and wise steward" assigned to give people their "portion of meat in due season"?.

(1) Was Charles Taze Russell ever the "faithful and wise steward" assigned to give people their "portion of meat in due season"? Yes, I believe so, because to me, his doctrine, although imperfect had much more basic truths than the other churches. Math. 24:45
(2) Was "the Society"—as distinguished from the "Bible Students" and the "association" in early publications—ever "the faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath set over his household, to give them their food in due season?" After Russell left, I believe the WT became a cult and became the evil slave in Math 24:48
(3) Is it a Scriptural requirement to confess any our sins to men, even "gross" sins? Yes, James 5:14-16 There is something about openly confessing our sins to one another that has much force.
(4) Is there Scriptural basis for the existence of Judicial Committees made up of elders? I would say no, As Jesus takes care of our sins Heb. 5:1-3
(5) Is there Scriptural basis for requiring compliance with an unscriptural policy on pain of disfellowshipping? No, we have to 'obey God as ruler, rather than men' Acts. 8:29 And we are commanded to love.
(6) Is there basis for requiring that Judicial affairs be conducted in complete secrecy, and that no witness or recording device may be present if the accused wishes to have proof of what happened at the proceedings? I don't think it should be secret. Don't know a scripture but I don't believe that Judicial meetings were done in secret but @ the public square.
(7) Is there basis for teaching that a man who has been disfellowshipped or has left the organization is no longer the spiritual head of his family?
So Auld Soul..this was what I came up with.

Where are the Great Crowd in Rev. 7:15? Every JWs should read this.
by Desino inevery jehovah's witness should know this.
i believe it is the current understanding of wts that the great crowd is rendering sacred service on earth after the great tribulation.

Because God's throne is with us..right here on earth..
John 14:23...."In answer Jesus said to him: "If anyone loves me, he will observe my word, and my father will love him, and we shall come to him and make our abode with him."
John 14:23..Jerus.Bible "If anyone loves me he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we shall come to him and make our home with him."
Because I believe when the holy spirit fills us then God's throne is right there with us, yes, right here on earth...

Who really is Babylon the Great?
by sinis ini know the wts says it is false religion, but if you read daniel, jeremiah, and revelation it shows that babylon the great is actually ruling over the ten kings.
how can "false religion" rule over the kings of the earth?
it seems that babylon the great might actually portray a real government.

Why the GB are never self critical?
by greendawn inthose pussyfooting with the devious nature of the gb of the jws should notice some strange things in their behaviour.
they are not known to (1)have ever carried out an act of self evaluation and self criticism and accept that they were wrong in some of their actions, or (2) to accept any criticisms from jw members let alone reply to them with rational arguments.
that is a most unchristian attitude.

Greendawn..Great ideas... I think the GB like the staunch secrecy so they can keep up the infallibility concept going. That's why they never debate out things with anybody. They want to keep the pretense going, that they have God's spirit in every decision and idea they come up with. Oh I know they don't say they are infallible but that's why they never admit or apoligize for there errors, because they want us to THINK they are and have complete obedience to them. To debate would mean, to maybe have to admit an error in the end of the debate.

God's restores favor to the Jews after the times of the Gentiles

Dear Rig....you forgot to post your 2 questions....But this is great info...I was suspecting lately that the Jews after 2 thousand years could be about many different nationalities after reading 'beyond the d'vinci code'. It talked about Mary Magdalene possibly settling in France and if she had a child with Jesus, his desendents would be French, or English, Scottish or Irish...as they migrated up. I'm not saying I believe the Mary and Jesus being married theory, but I guess it could be true..Thanks again...

Do spirit creatures have souls?
by skin indo spirit creatures have souls?
do jws believe that spirit creatures (angels, cherubs, jehovah etc)
have - are souls?
-
Star Moore
It seems like in this scripture Jehovah is speaking and commenting his "soul"...Not positive though
Ez. 23:18 "And she went on uncovering her acts of prostitution and uncovering her nakedness, so that my SOUL turned away disgusted from company with her, just as my SOUL had turned away disgusted from company with her sister."

JWs are also in the dark regarding the true meaning of Sheol/Hades.
by Schizm inthe watchtower society explains "hades" as being "the common grave of mankind".
christendom's understanding of "hades" is, for the most part, quite different than that of the watchtower society.
the one similarity between the two beliefs is that in both cases "hades" is considered to be a literal place.. the truth of the matter is that neither the watchtower society or christendom has a correct understanding of the terms "hades".

Okay, I read it...and I agree in the sense that Hades is not the grave..but the place where the dead go or the condition only to be released from God.... But do you think they are alive, and thinking? What about the scripture about the dead not be conscience of anything? Are you thinking purgatory? or Limbo? I don't think the bad are there.. but rather in Ghenna.
I agree with you that armaggedon is started by the battle of the lamb and Satan, not like they say about the UN attacking religion. Could we hurry it along? Maybe so..But in Dan. 12..it says at the end of the chapter, that it all comes to a finish in a specific amount of days...
